Today, we are getting to know Binita Raval:
What is your role at Georgetown? How long have you been working here?
I am an assistant director of program management for executive custom programs. I will be celebrating one year with Georgetown McDonough this week. I can’t believe it has already been a year – time flies when you’re having fun!
What do you enjoy most about working in executive education?
What I find the most rewarding about working in this industry is meeting and connecting with participants. At Georgetown, we have participants from near and far and I am amazed to see the caliber of experiences we have in our classrooms. Seeing the “ah-ha!” moments and hearing stories of how participants take back and apply the programs’ concepts to their organizations are quite fulfilling.
To you, what is the best part about living and working in the nation’s capital?
The best part of living and working in Washington, D.C., is the international and intellectual character of the city. There is always so much to do, explore, see, and eat. Whether it be the people, the food, the institutions, the world-class speakers, or the museum exhibits, I am surrounded by so many cultures that I am continually encouraged to travel and learn more about our diverse world.
Which movies are you enjoying most at the moment?
I am in love with superhero movies, so I was excited to see the most recent Thor and Justice League films. It’s been interesting to see the differences between Hollywood’s takes on the Marvel and DC Comics universes. (I’m #TeamMarvel.) I’m looking forward to checking out Avengers: Infinity War in 2018!
