Today, we’re getting to know Sarah Tillotson, director of program management for custom programs:
What is your role at Georgetown?
I am the director of program management in the custom programs team. I manage a diverse portfolio of program deliveries for clients located all across the globe. Additionally, I help envision and execute strategic projects and improve systems and processes for our program management team. I also work closely with the assistant directors to help ensure that the participants’ experience is an excellent one.
How long have you been working at Georgetown?
Just over four years.
What do you enjoy most about working in executive education?
I love being surrounded by bright, passionate colleagues who believe in the product and experience that we deliver in executive education. I feel that I learn something new every day either about myself, the industry, or the world. The work is challenging and pushes me to be better. I am also grateful to have a fantastic, supportive team. We infuse a lot of humor into our work and team culture, which makes the difficult days a whole lot more enjoyable!
What is your favorite (or most memorable) travel destination?
While Japan is my favorite destination (it feels like a second home to me after having lived there for a few years), Vietnam was perhaps my most memorable destination. I took a motor bike tour through the southern part of the country, and saw things that I’ll never forget. People were warm and welcoming, beaches were gorgeous, and don’t even get me started on the food! I would go back in a heartbeat.
What book are you currently reading?
I’m reading a few books right now, including “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle on the importance of living in the present. Mindfulness and meditation are at the core of the book, two interrelated topics which I am very interested in and trying to incorporate into both my personal and professional life.
